Smoked Spicy Margarita

Tequila, fresh lime, salt and maybe a Jalapeno if you’re feeling spicy! it’s bright, smoky, and unforgettable.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces blanco tequila

  • 1/2 ounce orange liqueur - there a lots of options here triple sec, Cointreau, Grand Marnier or dry curacao (which we used). All make perfectly good drinks.

  • 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeeze

  • 1/2 ounce agave syrup

  •  Jalapeño (optional if you don’t like spicy)

  • Garnish: lime wheel

  • Garnish: kosher salt (optional). We like a mix of salt and sugar for the rim.

Recipe

  1. Rim a rocks or coupe glass with smoked salt

  2. Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and agave syrup to a cocktail shaker with jalapeño slices to suit your spice level. Middle to release oils. Fill with ice, and shake until well-chilled.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

  4. Place the Skull & Cinder cocktail smoker over the glass, ignite your chosen wood chips, and let the smoke linger for 30-45 seconds.

  5. Garnish with a lime wheel
