Smoky Caesar

Invented in Calgary in 1969, the Caesar combines vodka, Worcestershire, tabasco and clamato juice into the national drink of Canada

Ingredients

  • Celery salt, to rim glass (classic recipe), we use Caesar Rim Salt

  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka

  • 4 ounces Clamato juice

  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 dashes Tabasco sauce or equivalent

  • Prepared horseradish, to taste (optional - not in this version)

  • Season with salt and pepper (optional)

  • Garnish: go crazy!! Caesar garnish has become a whole thing

Recipe

  1. Coat the rim of a tall glass with celery salt, fill with ice and smoke with your preferred wood chips. For this large format drink we find it much better to smoke the glass and the ice prior to adding the cocktail so as to get an even smoke experience from the top to the bottom of the drink - it works trust us!

  2. Add all the ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.

  3. Strain into the smoky glass.

  4. Create your garnish!!
