Smoked Vodka Martini

Shaken or stirred? Doesn’t matter as long as it’s smoky! For this drink we’re not even smoking the drink, but focusing on a nice smoked gorgonzola cheese garnish!

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Vodka

  • 1 oz Dry Vermouth (if you like it dry, cut back on the vermouth)

  • Add bitters if you wish, orange, celery or cardamom bitters are all good choices.

Recipe

  1. Add all ingredients to a stirring glass or shaker if you prefer (James Bond style).

  2.  Chill thoroughly (Again there is no correct way it’s a preference of stir vs shake)

  3. Garnish of your choice. Olives, lemon twists are good choices but today the star of the show is this beautiful piece of smoked Gorgonzola cheese.

Smoking a Garnish

  1. Garnish can be smoked in an empty rocks glass, but sealing the smoke inside a mason jar works even better.

  2. Add garnish to an empty jar

  3. Place the Skull & Cinder smoker on the jar, ignite your chosen wood chips, and allow smoke to fill the jar fully.

  4. Slowly remove the smoker to avoid disturbing the smoke and seal the jar.

  5. Let the jar sit for 5-10 minutes and then place atop your drink
