Smoked Espresso Martini

Salted Caramel

Though modern variations come in many forms, the original Espresso Martini is a simple combination of vodka, espresso, and coffee liqueur. Today it’ll be enhanced with a smoky Salted Caramel

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces salted caramel vodka (the flavored vodka is an option the standard recipe uses unflavored vodka - we’re just mixing it up a bit)

  • 1/2 ounce coffee liqueur (kahlua is most common variant, Tia Maria is good too, the one we are using is local from Black Diamond distillery)

  • 1 ounce espresso, freshly brewed

  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup

  • Garnish: coffee beans

Recipe

  1. Add vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso and simple syrup to a rocks glass

  2. Place the Skull & Cinder smoker on the glass, ignite your chosen wood chips, and allow smoke to settle on top of the drink for 30–45 seconds.

  3. Pour your smoked cocktail to a shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.

  4. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

  5. Garnish with coffee beans.
