Smoky Old Fashioned

A Smoky Old Fashioned combines bourbon, bitters, and gentle sweetness, finished with a layer of aromatic smoke. Each sip delivers rich depth with a warm, lingering character.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 oz simple syrup (or maple syrup if preferred)

  • 3 dashes bitters (can be chocolate or orange bitters)

  • 2 ounces bourbon (or rye whiskey, if preferred)

Recipe:

  1. Add the sugar and bitters into a mixing glass, then add the water, and stir until the sugar is nearly dissolved.

  2. Fill the mixing glass with ice, add the bourbon, and stir until well-chilled.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.

  4. Place the Skull & Cinder cocktail smoker on the glass, ignite your chosen wood chips, and allow smoke to infuse for 30–45 seconds.

Note: Try smoking the empty glass while you prepare the drink. Pouring into a smoky glass will allow the aroma to infuse more with your drink.
