Smoked Mint Julep

Bourbon, simple syrup, and fresh mint are muddled and poured over crushed ice, then gently smoked for a refreshing, aromatic twist on a classic. Finished with a mint sprig, it’s cool, crisp, and smoky.

Ingredients

  • 8 mint leaves

  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup

  • 2 ounces bourbon

  • Garnish: Mint sprig

Recipe

  1. In a rocks or mixing glass, lightly muddle the mint leaves in the simple syrup (or use pre made mint syrup)

  2. Add the bourbon

  3. Place the Skull & Cinder smoker on the glass. Ignite your chosen wood chips (we recommend Cherry Bomb) and allow smoke to infuse for 30–45 seconds.

  4. Add the smoked cocktail to a shaker full of crushed ice and shake until chilled.

    • Or pour the cocktail ungated (don’t strain) in to your julep glass filled with crushed ice.

  5. Top your glass with crushed ice to create a nice snow cap if required

  6. Garnish with a mint sprig (and a few drops of bitters optional).
