Smoked Mint Julep
Bourbon, simple syrup, and fresh mint are muddled and poured over crushed ice, then gently smoked for a refreshing, aromatic twist on a classic. Finished with a mint sprig, it’s cool, crisp, and smoky.
Ingredients
8 mint leaves
1/4 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces bourbon
Garnish: Mint sprig
Recipe
In a rocks or mixing glass, lightly muddle the mint leaves in the simple syrup (or use pre made mint syrup)
Add the bourbon
Place the Skull & Cinder smoker on the glass. Ignite your chosen wood chips (we recommend Cherry Bomb) and allow smoke to infuse for 30–45 seconds.
Add the smoked cocktail to a shaker full of crushed ice and shake until chilled.
Or pour the cocktail ungated (don’t strain) in to your julep glass filled with crushed ice.
Top your glass with crushed ice to create a nice snow cap if required
Garnish with a mint sprig (and a few drops of bitters optional).
